Abstract

A poet who writes poetry is a poet who makes poetry his life. Our profession is poetry, to work for the country, to be always silent - Bharathi has great love for his mother tongue Tamil. A multi-lingual scholar, “In any other language we find it as sweet as Tami” he wrote in Sanskrit, Bengali, Hindi, French and English. He has translated several Tamil literary works into Malayalam. As the national poet and the one who has imbibed the world's thoughts with beauty and truth, he has the distinction of being compared with the best poets of the world. Panchali Saptam is an epic poem written by Mahakavi depicting the Indian freedom struggle as the Battle of Bharat and Panchali as the Goddess of Bharat. Bharati's Panchali Saptam is an immortal epic of Tamil literature and poetry.
