Abstract

Silapathikaram, with the epithet 'Nenjayallum Silapathikaram', is hailed as the foremost of the five epics. It is a copy created by Muthamizil offering three types of charity to the world. This book composed by Ilangovadi describes the life of two elders named Govalan Kannagi. Though Ilangovadigal is said to have been a Jain, this epic is regarded as a communist epic. It contains information about all the gods. The purpose of this article is to briefly explain the religious concepts found in this book.
